iTraq device can be set to report its location on Schedule. This schedule is set using iTraq mobile application.
You can set the device to report after certain time intervals (every hour, once a day) or you can create a custom schedule that will have different reporting frequencies at different times of the day (report frequently during the day and have only few reports at night). Most of the time iTraq remains in the state of deep sleep to conserve the battery. At the scheduled times iTraq wakes up and reports its location. During this short wake up time it also learns about any changes in the calendar. After that iTraq goes back to sleep. This also means that, while you can modify the location reporting schedule at any time with iTraq mobile application, the device will learn about these changes only during the next wake up period. For example: The current schedule is set to report the location once an hour and the device will wake up at 1PM. Now is 12:15AM. You are changing the schedule to report every 10 minutes. iTraq will learn about this change at the moment of the currently set wake up time at 1PM. Your new reports will be coming at 1:10PM, 1:20PM etc...
